Felt Christmas Tree (and Wreath!)

In the “Pink and Gold Christmas” post, I included pictures of Christmas trees that I made out of felt fabric.  As promised, below are the instructions.

felt fabric (about 1 yard)

styrofoam cone

dressmaker pins

Step 1:

Cut 3″ circles out of the felt fabric.  I used the rim of a drinking glass as the template for the circles.  You will need to cut A LOT of circles to fill the cone.

Step 2:

Fold the circle in half and then in half again.

Step 3:

Pin the folded felt onto the cone.

Step 4:

Continue with steps 2 and 3 until the entire cone is covered.

And, here is the finished product.

The same instructions can be used to make a wreath.  I also made the felt balls pictured below.  The only item you need to switch out is the styrofoam cone for the styrofoam wreath and/or ball.
